Crestor Is Linked To Rhabdomyolysis and Kidney Failure.

The popular cholestorol drug CRESTOR has been found to increase the risk for two very serious health conditions: Rhabdomyolysis and Acute Renal (Kidney) Failure.

What is Rhabdomyolisis? Rhabdomyolisis is the sudden wasting away of skeletal muscle tissue. Symptoms include dark urine (Myoglobinuria), muscle weakness, muscle stiffness and aching, severe muscle and joint pain, and seizures.

What is Acute Renal (Kidney) Failure? Acute Renal Failure is the rapid loss of kidney function, and Rhabdomyolysis is one of the conditions that can cause it. As Rhabdomyolysis progresses, the blood stream carries the dead muscle cells to the kidneys. There they become trapped and cause the kidneys to shut down.
